Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the questions Lancaster County homeowners ask me most. Don't see yours? Just call 717-984-1127.

How much does a handyman cost in Lancaster County?
Most small jobs run $80–$250. Larger projects like drywall repair, flooring, or multi-day work are quoted by the job — not the hour. I don't charge the $150 dispatch fee that the big franchises add on, so my quotes are typically noticeably lower for the same work. You'll always get a clear written quote before I start.
What areas do you serve?
I serve all of Lancaster County, including Lancaster, Lititz, Manheim, Ephrata, Mount Joy, Columbia, Elizabethtown, Strasburg, Quarryville, Willow Street, Bird-in-Hand, Intercourse, Ronks, Gordonville, Paradise, Leola, Brownstown, Akron, Denver, Adamstown, and Reinholds — plus the surrounding townships. Not sure if you're in range? Just call and ask.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — I'm fully insured and happy to share proof of coverage before any work begins. Your home, your belongings, and your peace of mind are protected.
Do you do small jobs?
Absolutely. Some of my favorite jobs are the "I've been meaning to fix that for a year" tasks. If a big franchise won't come out for a one-hour job, I will. No job is too small.
How quickly can you start?
I can usually start within a few days of your call, and often same-week. For urgent jobs, call me directly at 717-984-1127 and I'll do my best to fit you in.
Do I need to provide materials?
Either way works. I'm happy to pick up materials for you — receipts passed through at cost, no markup — or you can provide your own. For fixtures, hardware, and paint, I usually recommend specific brands that have held up well in my experience; just ask.
How do I get a quote?
Use the form on the main page, or call 717-984-1127. For most jobs I can give you a ballpark over the phone in a couple of minutes. For larger projects I'll come look at the work and give you a written quote — no charge, no obligation.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Cash, check, Venmo, Zelle, and all major credit cards through a mobile card reader. Payment is due when the job is done and you're happy with the work.
Do you guarantee your work?
Yes — I stand behind every job. If something isn't right, I'll come back and make it right at no extra charge. Most of my business comes from referrals, so your satisfaction is the metric I care about most.
Why hire you instead of a big franchise?
No $150 dispatch fee. Direct communication with me — the actual person doing the work. Transparent, up-front pricing. Local references you can verify. Personal accountability. You get the same quality work without the franchise overhead, and the savings get passed straight to you.
